Skopje Mavrovo Tour

Our start with pick up from your address of accommodation and drive to Mavrovo. After arrive short information about Mavrovo and Mavrovo National Park – visit the facilities of the winter resort Mavrovo, also and church St. Nikolas, new and old and after that visited village Galicnik where take place Galicka svadba (wedding). Galichnik is a mountain village in the Republic of Macedonia and along with Lazaropole is one of the two biggest and oldest Mijak villages in the region.

Galichnik has well preserved traditional architecture, including an amphitheater in the village square, and is famous for its surrounding countryside and nature reserve. People from Galichnik and northwestern Macedonia appreciate the local yellow cheese (Kashkaval) that is produced in the region as well as the local salt brine white cheese “belo sirenje”.

After visiting Galicnik we drive along Mavrovo lake and canyon of river Radika to the biggest monastery in Macedonia – Bigorski monastery, Tour also included visit to the monastery St. Jovan Bigorski which is found 2 km from Rostushe village, Debar, on the altitude above the sea level of 740 m. Placed on the impressionable Bigor rocks on canyon valley of the river Radika, in the embrace of the exuberant forests implanted in the north – west slopes of Bistra Mountain. This incredible, magical landscape, the monastic mysticism and human ideality in one world, which out runs the frontiers of rational knowing. The monastery complex includes: church, charnel house, located to the church itself, defense tower, complex of monastery shelters, and the new built guests shelters.
After that visited a natural place – Waterfall Duff. Tour continue to visit the wonderful monastery Rajcica.

After that, traditional lunch in Mavrovo, and we are returning in Skopje.
